The Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) is continuously being improved, but users still encounter common problems that hinder its potential.Â
With Intrepid’s extensive experience and knowledge of the SFCC platform, you can trust that we will pinpoint any issues and provide the appropriate fixes, ensuring your site performs optimally.

Migrations
Our team has years of collective experience working with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, which empowers us to provide insights and fixes for clients based on our previous work. Our expertise ranges from managing complex migrations to implementing simple title and meta description changes in the backend.
For example:
- One prevalent issue is unnecessary crawling due to backend Demandware URLs, faceted navigation, and other filters. Without proper crawl controls or canonical tags, this can quickly spiral out of control.
- For those using product variations, ensuring canonical tags are correctly implemented is crucial. We’ve frequently observed product variations lacking canonical tags in SFCC, leading to issues with proper indexing and ranking.
- Plus, if you’re utilizing automatic product linking based on user browsing behavior, these links may not be visible to Google, which means your internal linking might not be as effective as you think.
Addressing these issues is absolutely essential for maintaining optimal site performance and search engine visibility.
Migrations are complex; SFCC adds another layer to that complexity with how they handle redirects. We’re well-versed in SFCC migrations and will help you work within SFCC’s redirect template to ensure that your pages redirect correctly. (And of course, we also assist with all the other typical migration issues that may pop up.)
Product Variations
SFCC’s product variations can add a lot of duplicate content and unnecessary crawling if they aren’t handled correctly. Sometimes backend Demandware.store product variation URLs will also surface and take up the crawl budget. We help make sure the right primary URLs are linked on the site and canonicals are put in place, along with putting in any other necessary crawl blocks to ensure Google is finding the links that matter.
Excess Links
SFCC creates a lot of crawlable links, and while they do automatically block some URLs through robots.txt, there are a lot more URLs that need to be properly managed. Demandware.store URLs, faceted navigation, and reviews all add to a lot of crawling you may not actually want. Our team helps you manage how Google crawls your site, ensuring only the most relevant pages are being crawled.
International SEO
SFCC allows you to easily manage your products across multiple languages and countries within the backend. We ensure all of your tagging is correct and in place so that Google shows the right language and country URLs to the right users.
